Drawings
The ink drawings I’ve been making are studies of
line and form of the edges of the paper.
I’ve been playing with the way that the lines push
off the paper, creating shapes that push the
edges and are confined by them, and lines that
lace around each other creating spaces in
between. They are occasionally influenced by
things that I see—the movement of water
downward as in a waterfall, the shapes that trees
make together in the forest, the shapes of stones
on top of one another in a breakwater, or the
shapes of iconic stones (like Whale Rock) that
represent very highly charged places for me.
